2011 Season - Week 18

In an outstanding show of offence Daz and Aaron combined for 101 points as they both broke the 50 barrier, Daz eventually winning when Tebow scored 3 for his overtime TD pass. Aaron wasn’t too upset, he is a Denver fan after all. Huge congrats to both for such an offensive display. Daz fell 2 points short of the post season record of 53 points set in the Divisional round in 1999 by Chief. Talking of Chief he suffered the ignominy of losing to the 16 seed in the biggest upset of the weekend as the Windy BUMS beat the number one seeded Raptors 19-21. The last time the 1 seed lost to the 16 seed was in 2007 when Andy H lost to Aaron. Other upsets saw H’s 11 seed beat Gang Green’s 6 seeds after Ron was a no show due to work pressures and Wayne’s 10th ranked squad upset the 7 seed of Marcus. Mark outscored Dave and so will pick before him in next years draft. For the first time since Aaron joined in 2001 all four Coopers were beaten in the first round. So the BUMS Divisional games are:- Number 2 seed Craig taking on David S (16), Johnnie (3) playing Andy H (11), Daz (4) faces Wayne (10) and AP (5) entertains Mark (8). Teams to me by 10am Saturday please. First come first served etc. NFL Wildcard Weekend It was home team domination, though Denver needed to wait for Overtime for Tebow-Time. So the Divisional round features all the division winners for the first time in ages. Three of the games are re-matches of games from earlier in the season. In the AFC New England host Denver (Pats won 41-23 earlier) and Houston host Baltimore (Ravens won 29-14). In the NFC Green Bay host the NY Giants (GB won 38-35) and San Francisco host New Orleans. Franchise Players 2012-2013 As is the norm you’ll select your Franchise player after the NFL Draft and majority of free agency as I shall be asking for your Franchise players for the next two years early in June. You’ll be giving up the player that you franchised two years ago though some have been cut due to injury or as they failed to live up to their owners expectations. Players cut because they were placed on IR can still be your franchise man. That includes Matt Forte and Fred Davis for Wayne. Meanwhile franchise players becoming available include QBs Jay Cutler & Matt Ryan and RBs Frank Gore, Chris Johnson & Rashard Mendenhall. BUMS on Seats Saturday night we are meeting at HQ from 9:30pm to see the Saints @ 49ers. We’ll be back at BUMS HQ on Sunday from 3pm to play catch up and watch the recording of Broncos @ Patriots which is played overnight, followed by ESPN Sunday NFL Countdown, then around 6:30pm Houston @ Baltimore.
